Day 36: June 15, 2010

Recap:

08:30 AM: Got up. I had two meeting at the same time today. I had informed my Traffic21 team but I had mis-communicated it. So my professor dint seem too happy with that. As I got into the campus, I attended both the meeting with status updates to Ralph.

11:51 AM: Waiting for my next class titled “Working in US”. Although I am not very interested in this class, I am waiting to understand different processes expected out of one later. I am hungry to have my lunch as well. Career Services is an awesome division in our campus. They offer lunch in every meeting which makes their classes much more fun.

12:22 PM: Rocky and Susan comes in as well. We just hogged on the Pizzas. I dint even have a breakfast so this was just the best filler I was looking for. As I plan my rest of the day around “Org Management” project and “Stats” project; I am wondering if I can pull through some more work out of my day today.

Meeting Takeaway:

  • Company’s culture, Airport meeting about behavioral question, http://glassdoor.com, The Vault
  • Once you are anywhere near the company, you are on stage.

Responsible Opposition

Just wanted to mention that recent opposition by Brinda Karat and her party for the issues in our country and their responsible behavior towards Ruchika rape case and Tiwari scandal has made me sit up and take notice of the left parties unlike before. I now want to understand this responsible shift in a party which opposed every move of the previous government with no rational or logic. I’m just glad that we have someone to question the moves of the majority Congress Govt. in the opposition while BJP and its allies are immersed in infighting and irresponsible coalition with Shibu Soren (Virtually a terrorist) to come back in power. Although the chances of this party growing into a major political party in this country are very low as they have a major ideological issues with middle class / upper middle class and the rich, I would still like to see them voice the opinion of the poor as the poor are the ones who usually get lost. Not that the middle class has a better voice in the parliament but they atleast have some financial comfort to cut their losses.

New 10 rupee coin!

By the way, new 10 rupee coins are out and they look different; different from what one would expect a normal aesthetics for a country’s currency. I did not like the design much but what the heck! They buy me everything worth 10 Rupees and that’s all I care for! There are a few gold looking 5 rupee coins as well. In fact, a shopkeeper was so amazed looking at those 5 rupee coins that he accepted just 5 rupees instead of the actual 8 rupees for a pani puri from my friend.

Here it is:

What should we do this republic day?

January 26th, 2009 we will be celebrating Republic Day again for 49th time after 1950. What should we do? Can we kill a politician and hang him instead of getting the same politician to hoist our national flag? Do we really need so many politicians and that too who are so damn corrupt?

I am planning to make a website and keep account of these corrupt politicians activities. May be prioritize these politicians based on their achievements corruption.
